No, only one appointment time slot per customer can be made at a time. In order for staff to be able to wipe down equipment/furniture, ensure safety protocols, and prepare for the next appointment slot, all customers will need to leave the building after their one hour appointment is finished. The customer is welcome to make an appointment for later in the day if there is one available.

Yes, customers are encouraged to bring someone with them to help with the computers, however only TWO individuals are allowed per appointment (i.e. The appointment holder and a child or someone to assist with the computer).

Yes, if there is availability at the branch you are visiting. To ensure that you get an appointment at the time you are looking for, making an appointment online is strongly encouraged.

No, only those with computer/printer use appointments will be allowed in the building so that we can maintain a safe environment for customers and staff.

If you would like to check out materials, you can browse our catalog online, place a hold, and then arrange for pickup through Curbside Pickup. You can also place holds through Live Web Chat or Telephone Reference. And don’t forget about the CCPL App where you can place holds and use all of our digital resources. The Mobile Library and Outreach Van also have limited materials that can be recommended by staff. Visit our Mobile Library information page to find a stop near you.

Waldorf West’s size makes reopening safely right now more challenging. We hope to include Waldorf West in our next reopening steps. All branches are practicing elevated cleaning and sanitizing protocols daily that follow public health guidelines.

  • All CCPL Staff and customers over the age of five will be required to wear masks at all times. Failure to comply will result in denied entry.
    • Masks will be available for customers who arrive without one.
    • Masks must cover nose and mouth
  • All staff and visitors will be required to maintain a social distance of at least 6 feet.
  • All of our branches have been retrofitted with Plexiglas® safety barriers and have physical distancing signage.
  • Self-serve cleaning materials for customers will be available to wipe down computer keyboards, mice, printers, chairs, and any other frequently touched surfaces.
  • In between appointments, each computer workstation will be sanitized.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available throughout each building.
  • No food or drink will be permitted in our buildings.
  • Furniture has been removed or reconfigured to ensure proper physical distancing. Customers should not move furniture unless staff have been consulted.
  • While CCPL Staff will not take customers’ temperatures upon arrival, by entering a CCPL building customers are agreeing to adhere to library safety protocols and that they are not currently exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms

All book drops at all of our branch buildings are open 24/7 and available for materials to be returned. Customers will not be allowed inside the building to make returns and should return items to the book drops.

CCPL is now fine free! Although we are no longer charging fines for late items, it is still important that you return your materials by the due dates so that we can keep our resources and materials available to everyone.

Due dates for most library materials have been extended for a final time to May 1, 2021. No fines will be charged for overdue items, but fees for lost/damaged/never returned items still can be incurred. For more information on Fine Free click here.

Mobile Hotspots may be returned by making a Curbside Pickup appointment and bringing them to the branch of your choice, calling any of our branches to arrange a drop off, or by visiting the Mobile Library or Outreach Van.

No, computer appointments are only for people to use library computers/printers. The appointments are not intended for people to come into the building to use our WiFi. However, we do have a few different options if you are only looking for WiFi:

  • All of our branch parking lots have free WiFi, no password required
  • Our Mobile Library and Outreach Van are mobile hotspots on wheels, so visitors at one of their stops can access WiFi for free from their vehicles or nearby
  • We also have a remote printing service that allows you to submit a print job through our online form and pick up via Curbside Pickup.

CCPL staff are only available for limited assistance from a safe social distance. Options for customers include:

  • You are allowed to bring one additional person to your appointment for computer assistance.
  • Our online Live Chat service is also available on our website for assistance navigating our website or resources.
