Make a Curbside Reservation

A: Curbside Pickup @CCPL is a safe way for you to pick up materials you’ve placed on hold before we reopen our doors. Only use Curbside Pickup for items you have already placed on hold, and for which you received a notice saying they are available. Staff are unable to pull new requests for you while you wait.

A:
1. Place a hold and receive confirmation that your holds are available.
2. Make a curbside pickup appointment.
3. Pickup your materials at your selected library location.

A:
1. Search the COSMOS online catalog to find materials you want to place on hold.
2. Log into your account using your library card number and PIN. The library card number is printed under the barcode stripes on your card. If you have forgotten your PIN you can call your local branch phone number between the hours of 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, or use our live chat service at www.ccplonline.org during regular library open hours.
3. Place the items on hold and choose the most convenient library branch location where you would like to pick up your requested items. (Please note that holds may take a little longer than normal to fill due to the fact we are quarantining materials for four days upon return to the library.
4. When you receive notification (via email, phone, or text) that your holds are ready for pickup, schedule a pickup appointment. Email, text or phone notifications will contain a link to the reservation page. You may change your notification method by logging into your COSMOS account.

2. You will be asked for your library card number(s) when you schedule your pickup, as well as some other details. You can schedule a pickup time from the next day to 20 days in the future. In order for staff to have time to package your hold items, there are no same day reservations.
3. Once you complete the reservation form you will receive a confirmation of your appointment with the day and time you selected as well as your assigned designated parking space.
4. On the morning of your appointment library staff will check your items out to the card number(s) you provided on your reservation form and they will be labeled with your name, appointment time, and designated parking spot or table location letter.

When you arrive for your appointment please pull into the library parking spot assigned to you on your confirmation (e.g., Parking Spot B) If you are early and your space is still occupied by another customer please pull into a non-designated parking spot and wait for your assigned spot to become available.**Please note: P.D. Brown Memorial Branch does not have designated parking. You may park in any available space, and your items will be at your designated table location.
2. Call the phone number on the sign to let staff know you have arrived.
3. In a few minutes a staff person will bring out your items and place them on a table with a sign corresponding to your parking spot or table location letter.
4. Allow staff to get 6 feet away from the table before getting out of your car and taking your bag from the table. **Please be sure you take the bag with your name on it.**
5. Enjoy your items!

A: We know you’ve been missing browsing the library’s shelves, so we’ve brought you the next best thing! To bring you more of the books and DVDs you love, we’ve created Mystery Grab Bags. These grab bags are available through Curbside Pickup. So, what’s in a Mystery Grab Bag? Your grab bag will contain a selection of books or DVDs randomly selected by our staff. You can choose one from the categories below:

  • Children’s Picture Books (8 items)
  • Entertainment DVDs (10 items) Please note: This grab bag can include a variety of genres across multiple age ranges.
  • New Adult Fiction Books (3 items)
  • Young Adult Fiction Books (3 items)

How do you pick up and select your Mystery Grab Bag? 

You can pick up a Mystery Grab Bag through Curbside Pickup @ CCPL. Schedule a Curbside appointment and then select the category of your grab bag from the Mystery Grab Bag drop down menu. Mystery Grab Bag items will be checked out to you on the day of your pickup appointment. Your grab bags can be picked up with other items you’ve placed on hold, or you can make an appointment to just pick up a grab bag. 

When you receive your Mystery Grab Bag, review the items to make sure they are a good fit for you and your family. Any items you do not want, simply drop them in our book returns before you leave the library.

A: Please bring your return items to the branch book drop. Due to strict quarantine procedures staff will not be able to accept returns at the Curbside Pickup tables.

A: No. At this time no other in-person library services are being offered. We will announce additional services via email, social media, and our website as they become available.

A: Due to strict quarantine procedures we are not currently accepting donations. Please hold on to donations until we announce that we are able to accept them, or gift them elsewhere.

A: The appointment reservation form gives an option for you to tell us if you will be on foot or riding a bicycle. When you arrive at the library there will be signs directing those on foot or on bikes.

A: For the safety of all we encourage customers to pick up their hold items from a designated table, but please let us know of any special needs you may have in the Additional Information field of the appointment reservation form, and/or over the phone when you arrive for your appointment time. Staff will do their best to accommodate you.

A: You only need to make one appointment. We will check out all holds that are available for your library card at one time. If you want to pick up your whole households’ materials, please enter all the library card numbers that have holds available in the Additional Library Card Number(s) field separated by commas. Staff will do their best to collect all holds ready for you as of the morning of your appointment.

A: You are welcome to make one appointment for all the notifications your household has received, please enter all the library card numbers that have holds available in the Additional  Library Card Number(s) field separated by commas.

A: Call the branch that has your hold items and arrange for a new appointment time. Staff may attempt to contact you as well. We will do our best to accommodate you.

A: When items are returned we are quarantining those materials for 48 hrs before checking them in. No fees will be charged to your account. Please allow 5-7 days for your account to clear.
