La Plata, January 13, 2017 – The CCPL is positioning itself as an indispensable community asset. As the library plans for innovative and meaningful community-centered services input is sought from county residents and supporters.

“Here at the Charles County Public Library (CCPL), we believe that we will be very instrumental in shaping the futures of the Southern Maryland residents we serve”, stated Tisha Tyler, newly-hired Marketing and Business Development Manager. “Charles County is growing and thriving and the CCPL is committed to growing right along with county.”

The library invites residents to communicate their thoughts and suggestions by way of a community survey on the Library’s website, http://www.ccplonline.org.

In February of 2016, Executive Director, Janet Salazar led the 6 month planning process for developing a comprehensive three-year strategic plan. “We realize we have some work to do to create a 21st century library system. We are asking our community to share their thoughts and ideas on current and future library programming, services, and facilities.” Salazar responds.

The information received from the surveys will help the Library in planning and prioritizing its current services, allocating resources, and identifying NEW library services and programs needed in the future. Public input will also help the library plan for the possibility of building new branches and making building improvements at current locations, including the construction of a new La Plata branch.

Although input is encouraged via the online survey, there are several ways you can let your voice be heard:

1. Go to the library’s web site (http://www.ccplonline.org) and complete the survey online.

2. Complete a hard copy of the survey at one of the four local library branches – La Plata, Potomac, P.B. Brown, or Waldorf West.

3. Complete a hard copy of the survey at one of the senior centers in the county – Clark Center (La Plata), Indian Head Senior Center, and Nanjemoy Senior Center.
