Have you seen the updated teen area at Waldorf West Library? Take a virtual tour, and explore the space in 360 degrees! Below is a description of what you will see:

Group Room 2

This is a quiet study for anyone until 2:30pm, Monday through Friday. After 2:30pm, it opens up for teens exclusively to utilize as a group study room.

Teens Only!

On one end, you’ll see a couple of bean bag chairs. We also have a laptop pillow for comfortable web browsing. On that far wall, you’ll see a pixel-by-number painting that you can help complete (just ask for the stickers at the reference desk). In the middle, you’ll see a television, which is equipped with the Nintendo Switch (just stop by the reference desk and ask to play). There is also a table for working on art projects and take-and-make kits. On the opposite end is another area with a couch as well as a PS 4 and big screen TV mounted on the wall. On both ends of this area you’ll also find computer stations that are available for you.

Main Aisle

Along the main aisle, you’ll also notice our Young Adult collection. On the first bookshelf facing the rest of the library, you’ll find our Reading List section, so you can find that required summer reading book you have to finish before heading back to school. Turn a little to the right; you’ll see the general fiction section (just behind it against the wall is our massive graphic novel section). Turn a little more to the right, and you’ll notice our collection of manga titles on the last shelf on that end.

Keep turning to the right after the TEENS ONLY sign, and you’ll see our teen series section. Keep turning to the right, and you’ll eventually find the teen nonfiction section.

We hope you enjoyed our virtual tour of the Teen Space. Of course, nothing beats being there in person, so if you’re between 12-18, come check it out!
