If you like deep dish, delicious, dog-gone-good pizza here is a pizza recipe for you! You may have a cast iron skillet sitting in your kitchen that doesn’t get much usage. After making this pizza, this cooking tool will become a staple.

  • Hands on Time: 15 minutes

  • Total Time: 35 minutes

  • Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • Pizza dough of your choice (greek yogurt/self rising flour, cauliflower crust or a pre-made crust work fine)

  • Toppings of your choice

  • Pizza sauce (white or red)

  • Cheese (dairy or vegan options)

Step 1: Preheat oven to 500 degrees F

Step 2: Add olive oil (or preferred non stick option) to the cast iron skillet

Step 3: Add pizza crust

Step 4: Add pizza sauce

Step 5: Add toppings (meat, veggies, cheese or cheese substitutes, vegan meat replacement, etc.)

Step 6: Place cast iron skillet with ingredients on stove top for 5 minutes (they allows the bottom of the pizza crust to become crispy)

Step 7: Bake in the oven for 15-18 minutes or until the pizza starts to bubble.

Step 8: Use an oven mitt to remove the pizza from the oven. Brush pizza with olive oil. Allow the pizza to stand for 5 minutes then transfer to a cutting board. Garnish with  basil or oregano if desired. ENJOY!
